Coincidence? I think not!

So everyone is on Myspace these days. As I was updating my profile I felt like searching for a song to add to my page. I've been going back and forth between Tye Tribbett's "Stand Out" and Kirk Franklin songs, so I wanted to find something new, but I somehow ended up on Kirk's page again. (By the way...Kirk has a fabulous page, which is why I'm viewing it all the time!)

As I looked at the playlist nothing popped out at me as "omg, I have to have this on my page," but as I scrolled down I noticed a recent video blog he created and posted last week. So, I curiously clicked and watch...and I was captivated.

It was a simple blog and he spoke briefly. He spoke on the importance of knowing that when you are in Christ, everything isn't always sunshine and lollipops (those are my words, not Kirk's, but you get the idea). There are different seasons that everyone will go through as they grow and mature in Christ. See the full blog here:

Even in the natural, there are seasons that render harsh conditions that can cause turmoil and suffering wherever it hits. But, once the storm passes and the weather breaks, there's a chance to rebuild and refurbish what was damaged.

Just look at Christ. He suffered at the hands of the Romans, and even a few of his own disciples turned against him and denied knowing him. But, in the end, his death led to his resurrection; and his resurrection led to new life and salvation for whomever will believe in him (see Romans 10:9-10 and 2 Corinthians 5:17).

How did this help me? Lately I've been feeling...inadequate, for lack of a better word. I'm tired all the time, I feel like my work is slipping and always disorganized and, although I'm surrounded by many people, I often feel alone. But the one thing that's keeping me focused is the fact that I've experienced this season before and God has always brought me out of it and into something better that what I had before.

If nothing else, viewing Kirk's page ministered to my current situation and the Holy Spirit has just confirmed God's word to me. And...as if that wasn't helpful enough, in watching Kirk's blog I found the perfect song for my Myspace profile.

Coincidence? I think not! (hehehehe)

I only have six posts so far...but this has to be my favorite (mostly because of the video!).
