Work it out!

So, I began a workout program today (like I do every week and never finish it), but this time things were different.

I got back from vacationing with family in Florida yesterday and when I woke up this morning, I just felt...blah. I thought to myself "great, it's back to the things that stress, confuse and frustrate me the most."

But, I forced myself out of bed, read some scriptures and did Tae Bo right in my livingroom. This particular series was called the "Believer's Workout." It's all about testing your body's limits while building physical strength and endurance.
The most amazing part of the series, and what eventually got me energized, is that Billy Blanks prayed before beginning the workout.

Throughout the entire series, Blanks referenced scriptures and applied them to the importance of taking care of our bodies.

Why is this important?

The Bible says that our bodies are the temples of the Holy Ghost (read 1 Corinthians 6:19). Our bodies belong to God, therefore we need to take care of them the way He would. The world, on the other hand, tells us that we need to look a certain way and/or be a certain size. If you have a habit of comparing yourself to super models on TV that are a size 0, you are allowing the devil to confuse and depress you.
But, there is hope, and help, because the Bible says that He who is in us (that would be God) is greater that he who is in the world (read 1 John 4:4).

As I strive to eat things that will nourish my body and build my physical strength and endurance, I must continue to repeat 1 John 4:4 and build my spiritual strength and endurance as well.

If I can do it, anyone can! Step out on and walk in faith, and not by sight
(read 2 Corinthians 5:7), and watch God move.

In the mean while, pray for me as I get back into shape! I am going to need it. hehehehe
