The little things in life...

...tend to make us smile. Or, they should at least.

I spent this past Saturday afternoon in a coffee shop with a friend and fellow writer. We were just conversing, about some of everything, and reading/writing to our hearts content. I had to leave for a brief moment to get something from my apartment, which was not far from the coffee shop.

As I was about to leave my apartment, I gave the room one last glance to make sure I did not forget anything when I spotted a box of Lemon Heads on my breakfast bar.

When my friend got to my house earlier, she mentioned how much she loved this candy and took a few from the box before we left. Knowing this, I grabbed the box to bring back to the coffee shop, where she was waiting for me to return.

As I walked to the table, I placed the box of candy into her book bag and when she saw what they were, she said "Oh yay, I was hoping you would bring these back. I asked God 'I hope she brings them back' and He said, 'don't worry, she will.'"

I laughed because, how absurd does that sound, asking God for a box of candy...and even crazier to think He will actually give it! Right?

If this would have happened a few years ago, yeah, I would have looked at my friend like she was crazy...and probably would have told her that she was. But, thank God for a renewed mind.

You see, as funny as the situation was, the Holy Ghost quickly dropped into my spirit how wonderful it is to be able to ask God for...well, anything, and know that when He says he will provide...He will.

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus says "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."

When you are in a new relationship, you find out everything there is to know about a person: what they like, what they don't like, what makes them smile, what they fear the most. When you get to that point in the relationship where you are completely comfortable around that person, you can ask them for anything and not feel silly about it.

Well, it's the same when you enter a true relationship with God. He wants to (and already) knows everything about you and wants to give you the things you like, love and desire...even if it is a box of candy.

See, Christians can enjoy life, too. And sometimes it's the simple things in life that can make us smile the most!

If nothing else, we both got a great laugh! hahaha
