Journey Through the Psalms: Day 27

*Today's reading: Psalms 27, 57, 87, 117, 147*

"My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me." And my heart responds, "Lord, I am coming."  Psalm 27:8

Psalm 27 brought me to tears early this morning, so much so I couldn't even type to finish this post when I originally started it at 6 a.m. And it took me a while to move on and read the other chapters because I spent almost an hour just soaking in (and crying joyfully over) this chapter! The more I read verse 8, the more I felt His awesome and glorious presence around me. Who am I that a God such as Him would delight in a conversation with me?

As I continued reading, the vision I got was of Jesus as a teacher. I (as a child, maybe 5 or 6 years old) was sitting on his knee and He was pointing to certain pictures in this book. It was His word in picture form and that's how He was teaching me His word. As my little feet dangled over His long legs, I buried my head into His chest and listened, my head popping up every so often to ask about particular pictures that really caught me eye. He was SHOWING ME HIS HEART through showing me His word! Absolutely amazing!! :-D

LORD, thank YOU for loving me enough to invite me into YOUR sanctuary where I find peace, rest, and great conversations with YOU! Teach me YOUR ways that I might follow in YOUR righteous footsteps now and forever!! I LOVE YOU, PAPA!!!

"My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!" Psalm 57:7

Tomorrow's reading: Psalms 28, 58, 88, 118, 148
